Start your day at Truss & Trestle, an industrial/retro diner serving hearty breakfasts and classic diner fare with a modern twist. For lunch, head to The Big Cheese, a beloved deli, cafe, and cheese shop crafting gourmet sandwiches and charcuterie boards. Creekside Bar & Bistro serves typical pub grub with a cozy patio overlooking the water. Wine lovers head to Well Nice, a chic wine bar offering curated natural wines and small plates. Grab an espresso, smoothie, or sweet treat at Lift Cafe to get you through the rest of the day. And, one of my favorite spots in the area is Darlings in nearby Tillson – a lively bar and restaurant dishing up craft cocktails, comfort food and southern dishes, and events including djs, karaoke, singles mixers, and more.

For fresh, organic produce, Fiddlehead Farm is a four season farm offering winter and summer CSAs with options to add chicken and eggs as well. You will find them, other amazing vendors, and live music at the seasonal Rosendale Farmers Market on Sundays in Willow Kiln Park just off Main Street.

Shopping.  

Explore Victoria Gardens, a whimsical nursery and gift shop brimming with plants, home decor, and garden treasures. They also have a great wreath-making workshop every year! Bookworms will adore Postmark Books, an indie bookstore with thoughtfully curated reads and a cozy atmosphere. For clothing, Clubhouse Vintage offers a great selection of vintage Americana, think tees, denim, military, and outerwear. Pet owners should visit Paws & Tail Pantry, a boutique stocking locally made pet treats, eco-friendly supplies, and dog grooming.

Everything else.  

Outdoor adventures await on the Walkill Valley Rail Trail which includes the Rosendale Trestle, a scenic walkway atop a historic railroad bridge with panoramic views. Hike the Joppenbergh Mountain Loop for rugged trails and mining history, or explore the otherworldly Widow Jane Mine, a preserved 19th-century cement mine at the Century House Historical Site.

Catch indie films, live music, or theater productions at the Rosendale Theatre or check out the Redwing Blackbird Theater, a small performance and workshop space that creates puppet parades, shows & exhibits.

Cyclists rely on TRT Bicycles for new bikes, repairs, and daily or hourly rentals to explore the Hudson Valley & Catskills terrain. Need ink? Guts & Glory Tattoo and Rosy Cheeks Tattoo deliver bold custom designs in their shops. And, if you need a ride, the Trailways Bus Stop offers park-and-ride access to NYC.
